Portland Bill's famous red-and-white lighthouse first started shining in 1906 and is still active today. A waymark for ships navigating the English Channel, this 41m tall distinctive tower can be seen for miles around.
Aside from the captivating lighthouse itself, the adjacent Visitor Centre contains impressive exhibits on the history of the lighthouse and its keepers. If you are taller than 110cm you can climb the 153 steps to the top of the tower from where you will see incredible views along the whole Jurassic Coast!
Portland Bill Lighthouse is ideal for all ages
