GARDENSTUDORS / HENRY VIIIMapperton is a glorious Grade I listed Jacobean mansion currently owned by Viscount and Viscountess Hinchingbrooke. It overlooks a beautifully manicured Italianate garden and woodlands which incorporate imaginative outdoor play areas.
Built on the site of an earlier 11th century manor, this 1540s building has been added to over the years through to the 18th century. Country Life magazine voted Mapperton The Nation's Finest Manor House in 2006, and it has only been open for limited numbers of private tours since 2023.
Mapperton House & Gardens is great for all ages, but perhaps a little overwhelming for the very youngest visitors
