ROMANSThe only example of its type to be seen in its entirety in Britain, Dorchester's L-shaped Roman town house shows a number of architectural details including two hypercausts, a window, stone columns and a well-preserved floor mosaic.
Known in Roman times as Durnovaria, Dorchester's County Hall now sits in Colliton Park (named after the 17th century Colliton House) and this is where the Roman Town House remains can be seen.
