Wareham's town walls are ramparts constructed in Saxon times to defend against Viking attacks.
This 1-mile signposted walk taking around an hour to complete follows the route of the walls - now predominantly grassy earth mounds - around the town centre. Apart from some gentle slopes, the walls are relatively level and benches are positioned to take in the surroundings. There are public toilets en route.
Wareham Town Walls Walk is great for all ages, but perhaps a little overwhelming for the very youngest visitors
