From time to time we are asked about the origins of our blue and green mortar board logo. Here's the logic behind our design...
The mortar board signifies our main market - educational visits and trips to the Isle of Wight
The diamond shape represents the Isle of Wight itself, often referred to as the "Diamond Isle" due to its outline when viewed from the air
The blue/green colours represent the sea which surrounds us, and the fertile farmland which dominates much of our scenery.
The concept and final graphics were developed by Brightbulb Design, an Isle of Wight based design agency

So iconic is our design that it wasn't long before others started using variants of the image, hence we took the decision to trademark it, along with our name Education Destination and our tagline "The Island Classroom". These are registered in the UK under article number UK00003229479.
